The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has scheduled a hearing on a petition calling for removing several “prejudiced” federal cabinet members to ensure unbiased general elections. Slated for October 10th, this petition, put forth by Advocate Syed Azizud Din Kaka Khel, specifically requests the removal of Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar and other key figures like Ahad Cheema, Fawad Hasan Fawad, and former PM secretary, Syed Toqeer Hussain. The petition claims their presence compromises election transparency.
Furthermore, the ECP will also hear petitions against PTI and its chairman on the same day. A notable submission by Khalid Mehmood urges the removal of Imran Khan as the PTI chairman from ECP’s records.
Additional petitions allege PTI’s involvement in accepting prohibited foreign funds. Another request seeks to render PTI ineligible for an election symbol. The day’s hearings will also include a response to a show-cause notice and Fawad Chaudhry’s physical appearance in a contempt case.
