Due to allegations of voting irregularities, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has suspended Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai’s election victory from PB-51, Chaman, and has scheduled a repoll.
The repolling, set for April 21, will occur at 12 specific polling stations in Chaman from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The results of this report will determine the outcome for the constituency.
Initially, Achakzai won the seat with 20,390 votes, narrowly defeating Asghar Achakzai of the ANP, who received 19,623 votes.
Following claims of electoral misconduct by other candidates, the ECP conducted an investigation. Based on the findings, a repoll was mandated on March 6 for select polling stations.
