The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has restricted Returning Officers, preventing them from releasing the final notifications for the election results of Islamabad’s NA-46, NA-47, and NA-48.
It should be noted that preliminary results indicated the victory of PML-N candidates across these three National Assembly seats within the federal capital territory.
Specifically, the ECP halted the final result announcement for NA-46 after independent candidate Rao Masood disputed the constituency’s Form 47. Unofficial results had named PML-N’s Anjum Aqeel Khan the victor, with PTI-endorsed independent candidate Amir Masood finishing as the runner-up.
In NA-47, PML-N’s Tariq Fazal Chaudhry emerged victorious, defeating PTI-backed Shoaib Shaheen, who came in second.
For NA-48, independent candidate Raja Khurram Shehzad was initially deemed the winner, with PTI-endorsed Syed Muhammad Ali Bukhari placing second. Post-election, Raja Khurram Shehzad declared his intention to join PML-N.
