Dubai International Airport announced the installation of advanced 3D AI scanners to transform security checks. These scanners, powered by artificial intelligence, aim to make travel faster and easier. The project, set to finish by the end of 2026, will enhance the passenger experience at the world’s busiest international airport.

The new 3D scanners screen luggage in seconds, cutting wait times at security. Passengers no longer need to remove laptops, liquids, or items like perfumes and water bottles. This technology simplifies the process, making journeys smoother and more efficient, according to airport officials.

Dubai International Airport has been the world’s busiest hub for international travellers for ten years. In the first half of 2025, it welcomed a record 46 million passengers, up 2.3% from last year, despite disruptions from the 12-day Iran-Israel war. The airport saw an average of 7.7 million passengers monthly, or 254,000 daily. In 2024, it hit a historic high of 92.3 million passengers, with top traffic from India, Saudi Arabia, and the UK.

The recent Iran-Israel conflict caused flight cancellations and airspace closures across the Middle East. Despite these challenges, Dubai Airport maintained strong growth, proving its resilience as a global travel hub. The new AI scanners will further strengthen their ability to handle high volumes efficiently.

The AI-powered scanners show Dubai’s commitment to cutting-edge technology and passenger comfort. As a key hub linking Asia, Europe, and Africa, the airport’s upgrades set a global standard. The project will create a smarter travel experience, boosting Dubai’s reputation and supporting its bustling economy.

Dubai International Airport’s rollout of 3D AI scanners by 2026 promises faster, easier security checks. As the world’s busiest airport, it continues to lead in innovation.
