The son of Shahab Mazher deputy inspector general (DIG) of Peshawar police was found strangulated to death in a bungalow in Defence’s Khayaban-e-Sehr.
According to police sources, Umair Shahab Mazhar, 27, was strangulated to death by his own security guard at his residence in Khayaban-e- Sahar late night.
Police claimed that monetary dispute as motive behind the murder.
Initial reports stated that he was strangulated by Faqeer Muhammad, who was his own security guard. The murder occurred over the refusal of paying Rs200,000.
The accused guard, identified as Faqir Muhamamd hailing from Kandhkot town of Sindh, was arrested and shifted to Darakhshan Police Station.
He said a case has been registered against the police guard.
Police said Mazhar’s mother and two sisters were also at home. They later called the cops through 15 helpline.
