A girls’ intermediate school in Gilgit-district Baltistan’s Diamir’s Darel valley that was burned down by miscreants a few days ago has been restored and reopened in time for schoolgirls to return to their classrooms on Tuesday.
Suriya Zaman, the parliamentary education secretary, opened the school; the ceremony was attended by commissioner Diamer, deputy commissioner Chilas, and assistant commissioner Darel.
After rebuilding, the school’s structure resembles a model institute equipped with a computer lab and a library.
Following the school’s opening, the students were overjoyed to return to their old school and begin their studies.
According to reports, additional schoolgirls have enrolled in the new organization to send a message to the perpetrators of the fire that they would continue to pursue knowledge and will not withdraw from exercising their fundamental rights.
