Following successful talks with Commissioner Karachi, Asif Haider Shah, the representatives of the ‘Dairy Farm Association’ have agreed to fix the retail price of fresh milk at Rs80 per litre.

The negotiations among Commissioner Karachi, representatives of daily farms, Deputy Commissioners and other officials concerned continued for 14 hours at Commissioner Office and ended at 6:00 a.m. on Thursday.

Following prolonged successful dialogues, dairy association members agreed to fix the retail price of fresh milk at Rs80 per litre. A notification has also been issued in this regard early morning.

Talking to media, Asif Haider said the milk price is fixed with the consensus of all the members and hoped it would not be violated.

Dairy Farmers announced on Tuesday to increase milk prices by Rs6. At present the milk was being supplied at Rs84 to Rs85 per litre, whereas the actual rate prescribed by the government is Rs70 per litre.
