Al-Nassr’s winger, Abdulrahman Ghareeb, shed light on football legend Cristiano Ronaldo’s hunger during practice sessions in a conversation with Sportskeeda. He depicted Ronaldo as an extraordinarily competitive individual whose intensity in training is unyielding despite his vast array of European titles and personal honors.
Since joining the Saudi Pro League’s Al-Nassr in January, Ronaldo has been a major force, scoring 14 goals in 19 matches and significantly bolstering the team’s standing.
Describing Ronaldo’s character, Ghareeb emphasized his discipline and punctuality, stating, “Ronaldo’s professionalism is unparalleled. However, his exasperation at losing during practice sessions, his wealth of titles notwithstanding, and his habitual early arrival at training are noteworthy.”
Ghareeb elaborated on Ronaldo’s motivational effect on him, stating, “Ronaldo provides me with incredible support. His presence alone inspires a heightened enthusiasm for training. The mere fact of training with Cristiano Ronaldo is exhilarating!”
On the flip side, Al-Nassr, even with Ronaldo, faced setbacks, bowing out of the Saudi Super Cup and King Cup of Champions and trailing Al-Ittihad by five points.
Responding to rumors of his discontent in the Gulf nation and speculated moves to Bayern Munich or Newcastle United, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner affirmed his commitment to Al-Nassr for the upcoming season.
Ronaldo recognized the competitive nature of the Saudi league but pointed out areas of potential improvement, notably in infrastructure and the functioning of referees and the VAR system. Despite these minor issues, Ronaldo expressed his contentment with his current situation, asserting, “I’m content here, I have the desire to continue here, and I will stay put.”
Ronaldo’s next appearance will be in a match against Al-Shabab in the group stage of the Arab Club Champions Cup, slated for July 20.
