Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif paid glowing tributes to the government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday and said that the country was on the path to progress and development.

Speaking to Members of the Punjab Assembly, the Chief Minister of Pakistan’s largest province stated that welfare programs of the government were benefiting a lot of people.

“The common man is certainly availing the benefits of the government’s development schemes,” he said. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, we are on the path to development and progress,” added Sharif.

Referring to the government, Shahbaz Sharif also said that serving the people was their ultimate aim and purpose.

“The purpose of every step we take is to promote the welfare of the public,” he said.

The Punjab Chief Minister also directed elected representatives to maintain close relations with the public and solve their issues.

“Under the guidance of the Prime Minister, the economic decisions being taken by the government are strengthening Pakistan’s economy,” he said. Sharif also went on to point out that the foreign exchange reserves of the country were at the highest ever in the country’s history.
