Copenhagen Airport, the Nordic region’s busiest, reopened early Tuesday, September 23, 2025, after drones halted flights for nearly four hours. Norway’s Oslo Airport also resumed operations by 3:22 AM (0122 GMT) after a similar drone-related closure. Both incidents disrupted travel across the region.
Copenhagen Police reported two or three large drones near the airport on Monday evening. Flights stopped at 8:26 PM (1826 GMT), per FlightRadar. About 50 flights were diverted. Oslo’s airspace was closed from midnight due to a drone sighting, redirecting all flights.
Copenhagen Police Deputy Assistant Commissioner Jakob Hansen said, “We are investigating what kind of drones these are.” The drones vanished, and none were seized. Denmark and Norway will work together to check for links between the incidents.
