Zulfiqar Ahmed, the owner of the increasingly popular beverage company ColaNext, was abducted by masked armed individuals in Mauripur, Karachi, on Tuesday and has yet to be located.
A prominent figure in Pakistan’s business community, Ahmed’s ColaNext has gained significant market traction, challenging major competitors like Pepsi and Coca-Cola.
Two days ago, Ahmed was forcibly taken from a public area by what appeared to be law enforcement personnel. However, no government agency has officially acknowledged involvement or responsibility for the incident.
In response to his disappearance, Ahmed’s family has filed a legal petition in the Sindh High Court seeking his immediate and safe return. The court has issued notices to the federal and provincial governments demanding action to locate him, with a hearing set for this coming Tuesday.
