Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif reiterated to rid the Karachi city off terrorists.

The COAS in a day visit along with the Interior Minister while addressing a high-level meeting at Rangers headquarters today.

The COAS visit to Karachi comes in the wake of killing of renowned qawwal Amjad Sabri and abduction of Sindh High Court chief justice’s son.

The Director General (DG) Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar briefed COAS on the paramilitary force’s ongoing operation, the law and order situation in Karachi.

In reference to recent incidents, Gen Sharif directed all commanders to continue working effectively, leaving no stone unturned in finding the perpetrators of Amjad Sabri attack.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has also touched down in Karachi earlier in the day, and held a meeting with Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ibad.

Later, Nisar along with the governor reached the residence of slain qawwal Sabri and assured to provide justice to his family.

A high-level apex committee meeting will also be held with senior officials of the Sindh government in attendance.

The son of SHC Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah was kidnapped in Clifton on June 20 , but the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) remained clueless about his disappearance until the family pointed it out hours later. The law-enforcers finally declared the incident a case of kidnapping after collecting evidence and recording eyewitness accounts.

Amjad Sabri, 45, was targeted in Liquatabad  area while heading to a television studio.
