Pakistan Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif ordered army and intelligence officials to implement the National Action Plan against terrorism at its earliest.
According to details, the army chief chaired a high level meeting of army and intelligence officials in General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi to discuss the security issues facing the country and ordered effective implementation of National Action Plan to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country.
During the session, Sharif lauded political leadership’s resolve to eliminate terrorism from the country through reforms and administrative measures.
COAS hoped that, in keeping with confidence and trust of the nation, army can transform this consensus into practical actions on ground.
The country is still reeling from the Peshawar school attack which claimed 149 lives including 133 children on December 16.
