Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir visited Saudi Arabia and the UAE from January 4-10.
The Saudia Arabia and United Arab Emirates (UAE) visit would be the first official trip since Gen Munir’s as army chief.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the army chief will meet with senior leaders of both countries to discuss matters of mutual interest, military-to-military cooperation, and bilateral security relations.
COAS Asim Munir met with Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman in Riyadh to discuss mutual interests.
The Saudi minister congratulated Gen Asim Munir on becoming army chief.
“During the meeting, they emphasized the strength and durability of bilateral relations between the two fraternal countries and discussed military and defence cooperation and ways to support and enhance them, in addition to discussing the most important regional and international issues of common interest,” the SPA said.
Later, Saudi Defense Minister Khalid Bin Salman shared his photo with Pakistan’s army chief.
He tweeted that we discussed ways to strengthen our strategic partnership, military and defence ties, and cooperation.
