Army Chief Raheel calls on PM Sharif to discuss security situation

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad earlier today to discuss matters related to the internal security situation in the country.

According to sources, the ongoing Rangers-led operation against criminal elements in Karachi and recent key arrests carried out in Sindh were discussed during the meeting.

Sources said that main focus of the meeting was the National Action Plan (NAP), matters relating to operation Zarb-e-Azb and the final phase of the ongoing offensive in Shawal valley of North Waziristan.

The process of reconstruction and rehabilitation of internally displaced person (IDPs) in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) was also discussed during the meeting.
