Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif plans to meet PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari amid rising tensions within the coalition about the upcoming budget. Differences have emerged between the PPP and PML-N over fiscal policies at the federal and Punjab levels.
Bilawal is set to discuss his party’s grievances with the Prime Minister today. PPP lawmaker Shazia Marri stated that the PPP feels marginalized, especially in the PSDP budget decisions. Shehbaz invited Bilawal to a 4 PM meeting at the Prime Minister’s House.
Bilawal intends to raise budget-related issues. The PPP’s absence from the June 12 budget session signalled their dissatisfaction. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar sought PPP’s involvement, but Bilawal delegated only three MNAs for representation.
The PPP accuses the PML-N of disregarding their post-election pact and taking them for granted.
