Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Friday called for an (unconditional ) apology from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain for his anti-{Pakistan army tirade.
In a press statement, Chief Minister Sharif said Altaf Hussain has hurt the sentiments of millions of Pakistanis by his speech last night.
“Our army has been rendering unprecedented sacrifices in the war against terrorism,” he said, adding Hussain must apologize to the nation.
Sharif’s statement came hours after military lashed out at Altaf Husasin for “his disgusting and uncalled for” remarks.
Military’s chief spokesman Maj-Gen Asim Bajwa said that the matter would be pursued legally and said Altaf Hussain was inciting the people of Pakistan against the state.
