Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retd.) Sardar Raza Khan has called a meeting of top officials on Monday.
The announcement of PTI Chairman Imran Khan warned to stage a protest in front of the Election Commission on October 4.
Issuing an ultimatum to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Imran Khan on Saturday gave the polling body up until October 4 to replace its existing four members, while also announcing a demonstration outside ECP headquarters if the party’s demands are not met.
Accusing the ECP of colluding with ruling PML-N in poll rigging, the PTI chief said the party would decide if they would contest the upcoming by-polls and local government elections under the same ‘umpires.
The chief election commissioner will preside over the meeting and deliberate on PTI’s call for the protest.
