Chaos erupted in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Tuesday as PTI and PTI-Parliamentarians (PTI-P) lawmakers clashed following a heated exchange.
The incident occurred after KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s address. PTI’s Nek Muhammad and PTI-P’s Iqbal Wazir, both from Waziristan, began a heated verbal exchange.
The confrontation escalated into a physical altercation involving fistfights and kicks, prompting security personnel to intervene and manage the supporters inside the assembly.
In the aftermath, law enforcement detained three of Iqbal’s supporters, and both lawmakers were expelled from the session.
During the session, Awami National Party’s (ANP) Nisar Baz protested, criticizing the limited speaking time afforded to the opposition. “The chief minister was given time to speak. Why aren’t we? I will express my party’s position,” Baz stated, cautioning against taking their etiquette for granted.
Earlier, CM Gandapur had reiterated his allegiance to PTI founder Imran Khan, denouncing those he deemed traitors. “May Allah destroy those disloyal to PTI, its ideology, and Imran Khan. Ignore their claims; they fear your unity and passion,” he declared.
