India clinched the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 title against New Zealand, igniting nationwide celebrations. Chasing 252 in the Dubai final, Rohit Sharma’s 76 set the tone.

Despite a late stumble, Shreyas Iyer’s 48 and KL Rahul’s unbeaten 32 sealed the win with six balls left. This victory marked India’s third Champions Trophy, their second straight ICC title after the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Sunil Gavaskar’s Viral Dance Wins Hearts

Amid the festivities, former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar stole the spotlight. Known for sharp commentary, the 75-year-old legend broke into a playful dance as India lifted the trophy. The clip, captured on camera, exploded online.

Star Sports posted it with, “Just a glimpse of Sunil Gavaskar’s passion for Indian cricket!” Fans adored it, calling him “cutie” and “pookie,” with some dubbing him “Trophy paglu.”

The triumph extended India’s recent dominance over New Zealand, following victories in the 2023 ODI World Cup semifinal and now this final. After a 12-year wait, reclaiming the Champions Trophy unleashed waves of pride. Gavaskar’s dance mirrored the joy of millions, capturing the spirit of a nation reveling in cricketing glory.
