Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee meets King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud

General Rashad Mahmood, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee who is on an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia met His Majesty King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud. During the meeting, General Rashad Mahmood conveyed good wishes of the Government and Armed Forces of Pakistan. While expressing condolences on the sad demise of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and appreciating late Majesty’s efforts in the fields of economic development and counter terrorism, General Rashad Mahmood wished the Saudi leadership success and prosperity in the face of tough challenges ahead.

General Rashad Mahmood also called on His Royal Highness (HRH) Prince Muhammad Bin Sulman Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, Defence Minister, HRH Prince Miteb Bin Abdullah, Commander of Saudi Arabian National Guards, His Excellency Abdul Rahman Bin Ali Al-Rubaian, Deputy Interior Minister and General Abdul Rehman Bin Saleh Al-Bunyan, Chief of General Staff and discussed matters related to professional interests which included defence production collaboration, exchange programmes, training and host of other areas between the two Armed Forces.

The discussions with dignitaries also focused on evolving regional security situation. General Rashad Mahmood explained the steps taken by government under National Action Plan, effects of operation Zarb-e-Azb and improving relations with new Afghan government.

Earlier CJCSC visited King Abdul Aziz Military Academy in Riyadh. He appreciated the standard of training and professional excellence being pursued by the Saudi Armed Forces. (ISPR Press Release)
