British-Pakistani entertainer and social media influencer Chahat Fateh Ali Khan has announced plans to initiate legal proceedings against television host Mathira.
Chahat Fateh Ali Khan’s statement comes after Mathira claimed that her interaction with Chahat on her show @The21mmShow made her feel “uncomfortable.” The controversy escalated following Chahat’s Instagram post, where he shared videos of him singing to Mathira and another hugging, both of which went viral.
Mathira addressed the incident in a video statement, expressing her discomfort with the physical interaction, which she noted was not consensual and had not been broadcast. “As a host, I believe in respecting our guests, but this situation was distressing. Despite my outgoing personality, unsolicited physical contact is unacceptable,” she stated.
Four days after Mathira’s allegations, Chahat broke his silence with a video refuting the claims. He argued that Mathira had persistently requested his presence on her show to boost its ratings. “Following the success of the show, it’s disheartening that she has levied harassment allegations against me,” he commented.
Chahat firmly denied the accusations, saying, “These allegations are baseless, and I am in talks with my legal team to pursue defamation charges against her.”
