A special cellular package has been launched for the country’s northern region by the Special Communication Organisation (SCO) of the armed forces.
Under the package, a call of two minutes on any network of SCO across Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) will cost a mere one rupee only.
This was stated by the SCO Sector Commander Col Muhammad Ali Nadeem.
Col Nadeem said the ‘Khul Kar Baat’ package allows customers of SCO mobile, wireless and landline to “remain in touch with their dear ones at the lowest call rates ever offered by any telecom service in the country”.
He added that the package was introduced to provide the latest telecommunication facilities to its customers in AJK. Further, he said 33 base transceiver station have been established in Neelum and Haveli to provide the best services to the people in these remote areas of the region.
The sector commander also said that this all is being done on the special instructions of SCO Director-General Maj Gen Amir Azeem Bajwa, in order to bring all of AJK at par with other parts of the country in regards to the telecom sector.
Col Nadeem said that the scenic Leepa Valley had also been given limited internet facility, and in some parts of the valley, SCO mobile services were also available.
He said SCO was working round the clock to provide the latest telecom facilities to the people of Neelum, Haveli and Leepa Valley.
