Cellular companies ready to provide data to police

Karachi: Inspector General of Sindh Police Ghulam Haider Jamali presided over a high-level meeting here at the Central Police Office (CPO) on Tuesday.

The meeting was attended by Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA) director and representatives of all cellular companies, senior police officers from the Police Department and the Special Branch and other officers, said a press release.

The meeting discussed about the exchange of CDR data, geo-fencing and data collection. It was decided in the meeting that a focal person from each department of the Sindh Police will be nominated for the required data so that the action against terrorists could be taken without any hurdles.

– GSM location for police station –

The meeting decided that the cellular companies will provide CDR data, geo-fencing and other required data to the concerned units of the police. The police official said that the GSM location and other details were very important for the police action.
