The Capital Development Authority (CDA) increased Islamabad’s property tax to enhance its revenue collection efforts. Previously, property taxes were levied only in select sectors, but now, a uniform property tax rate has been established across the city for the first time.
To incentivize timely payments, the CDA is offering a 10% tax discount to employees of both private and government organizations registered with the Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institute, applicable to dues cleared by September 30 each year.
Exemptions have been granted to public hospitals, educational institutions, libraries, and government organizations. However, semi-government entities are obligated to contribute to the property tax.
