CD Projekt Red has announced Update 2.2 for the acclaimed sci-fi RPG Cyberpunk 2077. The studio has confirmed that this update will not include PlayStation 5 Pro support or a New Game+ mode.

Details about Update 2.2’s new features will be shared in a live stream on CD Projekt’s Twitch and YouTube channels. The broadcast is scheduled for Tuesday, December 10, at 5 PM CET (9:30 PM IST).

Following the substantial Update 2.1 in December 2023, which introduced a fully functional metro system, a portable radio for in-game stations, and new social and vehicular additions, Update 2.2 promises to bring further enhancements. Although it won’t support PS5 Pro or include New Game+, Marcin Momot, CD Projekt’s global community director, teased on X (formerly Twitter) that “other cool stuff” is in preparation and will be discussed during the upcoming stream.

Cyberpunk 2077 came with Update 2.0, which preceded the Phantom Liberty expansion in September 2023. This update refined critical game mechanics like the police system and perk trees, significantly improving the gameplay experience.

Since its release on December 10, 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 has overcome severe initial backlash due to numerous bugs and performance issues across PC, PS4, and Xbox One. This has led to the game’s temporary removal from the PlayStation Store.

Despite these hurdles, CD Projekt Red has been committed to enhancing the game, continuously releasing updates and fixes. This dedication was acknowledged when they received the Best Ongoing Game award at The Game Awards 2023
