In a stark incident caught on CCTV, Jaswant Singh Gill, a 45-year-old murder convict on parole, was shot dead outside his residence in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. The authorities confirmed the incident, shaking the local community this past Thursday.
The footage revealed two men on a motorcycle approaching Gill as he spoke with acquaintances near his home. One of the attackers dismounted and shot Gill multiple times, ensuring he did not survive the assault.
Following a swift investigation, police apprehended two men in Kharar, Mohali district, Punjab. The suspects are known associates of Arshdeep Singh Dalla, a Canada-based gangster, and have also been linked to the murder of Sikh activist Gurpreet Singh Hari Nau in Faridkot last month.
Police have indicated that the killing was orchestrated by Dalla, who is currently designated as a terrorist. “The swift arrest of the perpetrators demonstrates our commitment to justice, regardless of the criminal networks involved,” stated a senior officer from the Gwalior Police Department.
The community remains in shock as the violence associated with distant criminal figures spills into their lives. Local authorities call for calm and vigilance as they promise to crack down on gang-related activities.
The investigation continues as law enforcement seeks further connections and aims to dismantle networks that enable such violent crimes. The police also work closely with international agencies to track Arshdeep Singh Dalla and curb his criminal activities.
