Cardi B faces allegations of abuse and physical assault according to new court filings, marking another high-profile legal battle within the hip-hop community.
In recent court filings, an individual has levied serious allegations against renowned rapper Cardi B, accusing her of physical assault. These claims have surfaced amidst legal challenges facing other prominent figures in the hip-hop community, including P. Diddy’s scrutiny for alleged sexual misconduct.
The plaintiff, Emani Ellis, recounts a distressing incident on February 24, 2018, at a medical office building in Beverly Hills, where she alleges Cardi B attacked her. According to Ellis, the confrontation occurred as she approached Cardi B, resulting in Ellis sustaining injuries to her head, face, and body inflicted by the rapper’s long fingernails, necessitating plastic surgery for facial wounds.
Beyond the physical altercation, Ellis asserts that Cardi B exploited her celebrity influence to impact her employment detrimentally. Ellis, a security guard at the Beverly Hills building, claims that Cardi B’s actions, including threats and intimidation, led to her dismissal.
The court documents detail Ellis’s allegations of Cardi B’s misuse of her status to orchestrate Ellis’s job loss, involving coercion and physical aggression. Furthermore, Ellis accuses Cardi B and her legal representatives of attempting to postpone legal proceedings.
At the time of the alleged incident, Cardi B was expecting her daughter, Kulture, and has cited self-defence in response to the accusations. A trial is set for May 31, bringing these grave accusations to a judicial examination.
