Bushra Bibi’s request for a transfer from Bani Gala to Adiala Jail was dismissed by the court due to the non-appearance of her legal representatives.
The presiding judge, Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb, expressed frustration over the lawyers’ absence. He noted that the court was ready to decide today but was forced to dismiss the application because the lawyers did not attend.
Justice Aurangzeb criticized the situation, describing the lawyers’ non-serious approach as trivializing the proceedings. He pointed out that some lawyers, including Shoaib Shaheen, left the courtroom and did not return. This behaviour led the judge to chastise the state counsel and the absent parties for not engaging properly with the court and treating the judicial process lightly.
Additionally, the State Counsel disclosed that arrangements had been made for Bushra Bibi to meet the PTI founder during Eid. However, Justice Aurangzeb observed that the parties’ actions suggested a lack of genuine interest in obtaining the relief they sought, accusing them of politicizing the court proceedings.
The judge dismissed the transfer application but indicated that a petition for reinstatement could be filed later, adding another chapter to the ongoing legal challenges involving Bushra Bibi.
