The Islamabad High Court (IHC) approved Bushra Bibi’s bail on Wednesday. Bushra Bibi, spouse of Imran Khan and former first lady, was released in the Toshakhana case against a Rs1 million surety bond. Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb presided over the hearing.
Bushra Bibi applied for bail at the IHC on October 3 related to accusations involving a set of jewelry. Her lawyer, Advocate Yousaf Chaudhry, argued that the charges were unfounded and that she was merely a housewife. The petition criticized the investigation’s lack of transparency and suggested the case’s motive was to detain her indefinitely. It highlighted the repetitive nature of the case, which is being prosecuted from various angles.
This follows a trial court’s decision on September 30 to revoke her previous post-arrest bail.
