Bushra Bibi, Imran Khan’s wife and PTI founder, confirmed the party’s protest on November 24 will proceed as planned.
In a rare video message released Thursday, Bushra Bibi dismissed rumours of a rescheduled protest date. She stated that only Imran Khan’s release from prison and his directive could alter the protest date.
Bushra Bibi urged the public to disregard the rumours and participate in the November 24 protest.
Hours after her message, the Islamabad High Court deemed PTI’s protest “unlawful” and instructed the federal government to ensure law and order in the capital without disrupting daily life.
Bushra Bibi also disclosed an alleged conspiracy by foreign powers to remove her husband from power.
She recounted an incident in which, after a visit to Madina, where Mr. Khan was barefoot, the then army chief, Qamar Jawed Bajwa, received concerning calls about the former PM.
She suggested that these powers criticized the government’s support of Sharia despite their push for its abolition in the country. Bushra Bibi indicated that Gen Bajwa and his family should address these issues, noting media claims of his denial.
Additionally, she appealed to police and law enforcement to moderate their response to the peaceful protests.
Highlighting her husband’s confinement in a “cramped space” for over a year, she questioned the commitment of lawyers and judges to justice.
