KARACHI: Stocks extended gains on Friday with the KSE-100 index up by 266.26 points or 0.87 per cent to close at 30,930.04 points. Investor interest was manifested in the index moving to the north without once looking back.

Intra-day the benchmark climbed to touching distance of 31,000 points at 30,999.18.

The volume was lower than Thursday, but interest was seen in the textile and oil & gas sectors.

Heavy local institutional buying masked the foreign outflow of $3.22m on Friday.

Dealers said that the investor interest was buoyed by talks of good response to the book building for sale of 7.5pc government stake in OGDCL.
