Embodying his role in an upcoming Formula 1 film, Brad Pitt took a dramatic tumble during a track scene at the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
While portraying “Sonny Hayes,” Pitt was seen limping from a simulated crash site before collapsing onto a padded mat in front of a live audience.
Pitt has attended several F1 races this season to film scenes for the movie, co-produced by F1 champion Lewis Hamilton.
British actor Damson Idris co-stars as Pitt’s teammate, Joshua Pearce, representing the fictional APX GP team.
In a tongue-in-cheek move, APX GP released a faux statement about the event: “During qualifying, Sonny endured a significant impact necessitating immediate medical evaluation. Though stable, he will miss tomorrow’s race to focus on recovery. The team fully supports him and will provide further updates as they become available.”
According to the plot, Idris’s character, Joshua Pearce, will race alone, advancing the team’s prospects as Pitt’s character recuperates.
The film is expected to offer a compelling mix of Hollywood storytelling and Formula 1 realism, heightened by Hamilton’s contribution and Pitt’s commitment to shooting on actual racetracks.
