Faisalabad: A young man, who shot himself after critically injuring Pakistan’s international Kabaddi player Saba Sultana by opening fire on her, succumbed to injuries in Allied hospital today.
The boy, identified as Imran, was a resident of Owais Colony, the same neighbourhood where Saba’s house is situated. Both were shifted to Allied Hospital in critical condition last Tuesday.
The condition of Saba is said to be stable.
Saba Sultana was part of Pakistan’s team that played an international event in India last year. She was hopeful of representing the country in the future also.
According to Saba’s father, Imran had carried out the attack over a payment dispute of a laptop computer.
However, sources said that the youth was interested in marrying Saba and took the decision following a spat that created rifts between the two.
