On Thursday, a bomb attack in the Mastung district of Balochistan left at least seven people injured, including the prominent JUI-F leader, Hafiz Hamdullah. The incident occurred on Mastung Road while Hamdullah was in transit through the area.
Following the attack, Hamdullah was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, according to a spokesperson for the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM). After receiving initial medical attention in a Mastung hospital, he was then moved to Quetta for further treatment. Aslam Ghauri, a spokesperson for JUI-F, confirmed that although Hamdullah was injured, his condition is not critical. Ghauri expressed strong condemnation for the attack.
In addition, JUI-F chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, vehemently denounced the attack, urging authorities to not only locate but also apprehend the individuals responsible for the bombing. Joining in condemnation was the province’s interim home minister, Zubair Jamali, who tasked authorities with compiling a report regarding the incident. Jamali underscored the necessity of assistance for the victims and prayed for their speedy recovery.
