The BISP stipend increase for Ramadan 2026 has been announced, bringing financial relief to 10 million beneficiary families across Pakistan. The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) confirmed that higher payments would be made under its key initiatives ahead of the holy month.
Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid said the revised stipends reflect the government’s response to inflation and the needs of vulnerable households.
Benazir Kafalat Stipend for Ramadan 2026
Under the new revision, the Benazir Kafalat quarterly stipend has increased from Rs. 13,500 to Rs. 14,500. The additional Rs. 1,000 will be disbursed during Ramadan.
Senator Khalid described the increase as a Ramadan gift for beneficiaries. She emphasised that the decision aims to provide timely relief and protect low-income families from rising living costs.
In addition to Kafalat, BISP has approved a Rs. 500 increase for the Benazir Education Stipends programme. Families whose children maintain at least 70 per cent school attendance will receive the enhanced conditional cash transfer. This step strengthens the link between financial assistance and school continuity.

Similarly, the Benazir Nashonuma programme stipend has increased by Rs. 500. The initiative supports pregnant women and lactating mothers through financial aid and nutritional supplements. According to the chairperson, improving maternal health contributes to a healthier future generation.
BISP 10 Million Women Bank Accounts
BISP also marked a major milestone by opening 10 million bank accounts for women beneficiaries. The initiative aims to expand financial inclusion and ensure direct, transparent payments.
Under the new digital payment system, beneficiaries will receive free SIM cards through designated BISP offices and campsites. These SIMs will link to digital wallets. Women will get SMS notifications for each disbursement and can withdraw funds as needed.
The programme has also introduced interoperability across seven partner banks in coordination with the State Bank of Pakistan. Beneficiaries can now withdraw payments from any authorised bank agent instead of being restricted to one.
Senator Khalid said this reform enhances dignity and choice. If a beneficiary faces difficulty with one agent, she can approach another.
Addressing concerns about dependency, the chairperson said BISP provides income support as a bridge, not a permanent solution. She highlighted the Hunarmand vocational training programme, launched to equip beneficiaries with market-relevant skills.
Around 1,500 trainees are nearing graduation, while 5,000 more have recently enrolled. The goal is to help families become financially independent over time.
