Karachi: Road barriers and blocks placed around the residence of PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari – Bilawal House have been removed overnight.
After midnight, under the supervision of DC South, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) crew started removing barrier and blocks around Bilawal House with the help of heavy machinery.
Similarly, shipping containers have also been removed, the road from Boat Basin to Sea View has been re-opened.
The former president of Pakistan and PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari himself directed to do away with the barriers surrounding his Karachi residence—Bilawal House.
Talking to media, Sindh Information minister, Sharjeel Memon said the decision to dispose of the security barriers was taken up despite grave security threats.
Earlier, former interior minister Rehman A. Malik confirmed that the security barriers are being removed at Zardari’s behest.
