At least 10 police and security personnel embraced martyrdom in Balochistan after coordinated attacks struck 12 locations, security sources said on Saturday. Forces killed 58 militants during swift counter-operations, the sources added.
Security teams continue to pursue remaining militants at multiple sites. Officials expect further updates as operations progress.
According to security officials, militants linked to Fitna al-Hindustan launched the assaults late Friday night. Law enforcement agencies and security forces responded quickly and neutralised the threat.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attacks and praised the forces for stopping them. “I salute the brave sons who thwarted the terrorists’ evil designs,” he said. He added that the nation stands proud of the martyrs and will always honour their sacrifice.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said police and the Frontier Corps acted jointly to foil the attacks. “These attacks cannot weaken our resolve against terrorism,” he said.
The latest incidents follow major intelligence-based operations a day earlier, in which forces killed 41 militants in two areas of Balochistan.
In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations said troops carried out engagements on January 29. Forces killed 30 militants on the outskirts of Harnai district and eliminated 11 others in Panjgur district.
During the Panjgur operation, forces recovered weapons, ammunition, and cash looted in a bank robbery on December 15 last year, ISPR said.

Pakistan has faced a rise in cross-border terrorist incidents since the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan in 2021.
ISPR Director General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said during a January 6 briefing that law enforcement agencies conducted 75,175 intelligence-based operations across the country in 2025.
He said authorities carried out 14,658 operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 58,778 in Balochistan, and 1,739 elsewhere. Officials recorded 5,397 terrorism incidents nationwide last year, with 3,811 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 1,557 in Balochistan.
Chaudhry said forces killed 2,597 terrorists during counterterror operations in 2025. He added that militants deliberately targeted civilians and soft targets in 10 major attacks and that Afghan-based militants played a role in all of them.
