Balochistan authorities have arrested 11 suspects, including Sardar Sherbaz Satakzai, the head of the Satakzai tribe, in connection with the brutal honour killing of a married couple.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti confirmed the arrests on July 20, 2025, via X, stating: “Operations are continuing effectively and the state stands with the oppressed.” He vowed to bring all involved to justice.
A viral video showing armed men publicly executing victims brought the incident to national attention and prompted the government to act immediately. Since no family members filed a complaint, the authorities registered a case under state law. Bugti directed officials to conduct a thorough investigation, stressing, “No one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands.

Police raided Satakzai House to apprehend the tribal chief, triggering criticism from Sarawan tribal leaders who called the move unjustified. “Using the incident as a pretext to detain a tribal head is unjustified,” they stated.
