Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari criticized Natasha Danish, attributing direct responsibility to her for the tragic Karsaz Road incident and accusing her of showing no remorse.
Bakhtawar, the sister of Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, expressed her dismay on X (formerly known as Twitter), stating, “She has no remorse for her actions. This was not just a vehicle; it was a woman with no regrets. Her drug test results are still pending. She should be punished, and if she was on the boards of several businesses, she cannot use mental health issues as a cover for her crime.”
The incident, which resulted in a father and daughter being run over, has sparked considerable public outcry and scepticism about the fairness of the judicial process due to Natasha Danish’s connections to an influential industrialist family. The public and various prominent figures have raised concerns about the potential influence of Danish’s status on the outcome of her case.
Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri from Balochistan commented on the case, noting, “Natasha Danish, the wife of the owner of the Gul Ahmed brand, clearly had control over her senses while driving her Land Cruiser, resulting in the death of at least two people, including a woman, and injuring seven others.” She highlighted a common practice in Pakistan where influential individuals are declared mentally ill to evade murder charges and vowed to investigate the circumstances under which Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center declared Danish mentally ill.
Former Sindh Governor Imran Ismail remarked on the pattern of affluent individuals being frequently labelled as mentally unstable when accused of serious crimes, citing, “Shah Rukh Jatoi, Zahir Jaffer, Natasha Ali Muhammad, it’s quite a coincidence that all these accused are billionaires and all supposedly suffer from mental instability.”
