The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that Azam Khan’s participation in the T20I series against New Zealand, starting today, is in doubt due to a leg injury. During Wednesday’s practice, the wicketkeeper-batsman felt discomfort in his right knee and calf.
The medical team immediately treated him. PCB added that Azam’s final status for the upcoming games will depend on further medical reports.
Today, Pakistan begins a five-match T20I series against New Zealand in Rawalpindi, preparing for the T20 World Cup in June. Azam, who last played in March 2023, is part of the team.
