Ayaz Soomro, Azra Fazal resign following Zardari announces to contest NA election

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) two members national assembly (MNA), Ayaz Soomro and Azra Fazal Pechuho have tendered resignations following Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari announced to contest election for National Assembly (NA) along with the party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

 Ayaz Soomro and Azra Fazal Pechuho handed their resignations to the party leadership.

Ayaz Soomro said the membership of the National Assembly was the party’s trust.

The PPP will accept the two resignations in its Central Executive Committee meeting. The same committee will give a go-ahead to the two top leaders to contest by-elections.

Doctor Azra Afzal, a younger sister of Zardari, was elected Member of the National Assembly from NA-213 constituency of the National Assembly while Soomro won the election from Larkana.

Ayaz Soomro was elected from Old Larkana NA-204 and Azra from Nawabshah NA-213
