A “suspicious looking” man on Sunday morning forced authorities to shutdown the Eiffel Tower in Paris for tourists and visitors.
According to reports published in “International Business Times”, at 9am an alarm was raised following reports of a suspicious male carrying a large rucksack up to the building. The man was spotted at the French landmark more than an hour before it opened. Anti-terrorist police arrived at the scene who assisted with the evacuation of the tower.
Till the final reports, the search for the unidentified suspect in continues and police has failed to apprehend the suspect and whereabouts were still unknown.
A police cordon was placed around the tower as people were moved to the banks of the nearby River Seine.
