Asset Statements: ECP to suspend 253 lawmakers

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to suspend 253 assembly members who failed to submit the details of their assets on Wednesday.

According to the election commission sources, the commission sending letters to Chairman Senate, and speakers of National Assembly and provincial assemblies for suspension of the membership of the defaulting lawmakers till submission of their statements.

The ECP sources said that 918 members have submitted their statements of assets to the election commission including 101 senators and 282 National Assembly members.

Moreover, 256 members of Punjab Assembly, 135 Sindh MPAs, 88 KP MPAs and 56 members of Balochistan Assembly have submitted their statements of assets.
