Islamabad: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif termed Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) as an ‘enemy of Pakistan’ over the party’s letter to the Indian High Commission.
Speaking with reporters outside Parliament, Asif said those who were involved in such activities could not even be considered Pakistanis.
“There are forums available to the MQM in Pakistan and if they chose to knock on India’s doors, I would not even consider them Pakistanis.”
He added that Pakistan’s relations with India warranted that we would not knock on the doors of our enemies.
According to reports in the media the MQM had written a letter to the Indian High Commission asking them to raise their voice for the recovery of detained party workers.
The MQM said it had written the letter to 55 embassies and not just India.
Meanwhile, MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar told reporters outside Parliament that the party had not written any such letter to the Indian High Commission.
Sattar said that even if any such an email had been sent due to an error of human judgment or technical error
