The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) unveiled the Asia Cup 2025 trophy on September 9, 2025, in the United Arab Emirates, sparking excitement for the eight-team tournament. ACC President and Pakistan Cricket Board chief Mohsin Naqvi led the ceremony, joined by team captains.
The Asia Cup 2025 begins today with Afghanistan facing Hong Kong at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Matches will take place at two venues: Dubai International Cricket Stadium and Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium. Dubai will host most games, including the high-stakes Pakistan-India matches, if both teams advance past the group stage. Abu Dhabi will host eight games, including a Super Four match on September 23.
Pakistan, in Group A with India, Oman, and the UAE, starts its campaign against Oman on September 12 in Dubai. The big Pakistan-India game is set for September 14, followed by Pakistan vs. UAE on September 17. Group B includes Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Hong Kong. The top two teams from each group move to the Super Four, with the final on September 28 in Dubai.

All matches start at 6 PM Gulf Standard Time (7 PM PST), except for the UAE vs. Oman game on September 15.
Pakistan, fresh from a tri-nation series win, is a strong contender. India’s captain, Suryakumar Yadav, called the T20 format “challenging” at the trophy unveiling, noting that “any team can shine.”
