A police officer was killed and four others were injured in early morning attacks on patrolling mobiles of the law-enforcers in Karachi today.

According to police and rescue officials, a police mobile came under attack in Lines Area near Parking Plaza where unknown gunmen on motorbikes fired shots on the vehicle, leaving three personnel critically injured.

The injured were shifted to Jinnah hospital where ASI Arshad Tanoli succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The two others are stated to be in critical condition.

In the second attack, unknown miscreants hurled a cracker on a police van of patrolling personnel near Tibet Center.

At least four people – two passersby and two policemen – were injured in the low-intensity blast. The injured were rushed to hospital.
