Lahore: An additional district and sessions judge sought comments from the Lower Mall SHO on a petition seeking the registration of a case against an assistant sub inspector who allegedly thrashed the petitioner’s son.
Petitioner Muhammad Sabir said on April 5, his son was playing cricket in the street in front of his house with some of his friends. He said the ASI and his friends were smoking in a car in the street and the children’s cricket ball hit their car.
He said his son ran to pick the ball up but the ASI stepped out from the car and beat up his son. Sabir said he visited the police station to file a complaint but the police refused to register a case against the ASI.
He said when they asked the ASI why he had beaten up the child he threatened them with dire consequences. He asked the court to direct the SHO to register an FIR against the ASI for thrashing a minor, threatening them and for smoking hashish in public.
