ARY Group acquires Nukta platform, signalling a major shift in Pakistan’s digital media landscape. Sources confirmed that the deal has closed and integration into ARY’s operations is already underway.
Nukta was launched in November 2024 in Dubai under the leadership of senior journalist Kamran Khan. The platform positioned itself as a premium digital newsroom and quickly recruited talent from leading media houses.
It offered salaries above market standards and relied on advertising, YouTube revenue, and consultancy services to support its business model. However, financial pressures began to surface over time.
ARY Group Acquires Nukta Platform Amid Financial Strain
Nukta initially received backing from property developer Malik Riaz, who had long shown interest in owning a media outlet. Later, his financial position weakened after several of his properties were seized and auctioned.
As funding constraints intensified, the platform’s sustainability came under pressure. According to sources, Kamran Khan and his family managed operations independently for several months before the transfer of ownership.
For Malik Riaz, the deal reduces financial burden. For ARY, the acquisition delivers an established digital infrastructure, experienced staff, and an operational newsroom ready for expansion.
The move strengthens ARY’s footprint in Pakistan’s fast-growing online media sector. It also reflects broader consolidation trends in the country’s digital journalism space.
