Superstar actor and former politician Arnold Schwarzenegger expressed gratitude to his Pakistani fans when his newly-launched TV show “FUBAR” topped the streaming charts in the country.
In a recent interaction with his Ukrainian fans, Schwarzenegger also received news from a Pakistani fan about his show’s number-one trending status on Netflix in Pakistan.
“Thanks to all my Pakistani supporters!” replied Schwarzenegger, renowned Hollywood actor and previous governor of California, responding to the Pakistani fan’s tweet.
This is the inaugural TV series in which the American and Austrian star has participated. Apart from playing a leading role, Schwarzenegger is also the executive producer of this action-comedy spy thriller.
“FUBAR,” designed by Nick Santora, debuted on May 25.
In the series, Schwarzenegger enacts Luke Brunner, a seasoned CIA agent on the verge of retirement. Yet, his tranquil retirement plans are interrupted when he’s tasked with one final undercover mission — rescuing another agent who is, coincidentally, his daughter.
According to Netflix, “The series intertwines universal family dynamics with an international backdrop full of espionage, action, and comedy.”
Reflecting on this unique experience, Schwarzenegger shared with Reuters, “This kind of opportunity wasn’t available during the ’80s and ’90s when I was building my career post ‘Conan the Barbarian’ and ‘Terminator.”
Describing the series, he added, “It’s full of chaos and creates numerous entertaining possibilities. Some moments are incredibly intense – it’s a matter of life and death – while others are so hilarious that you can’t help but laugh out loud.”
